Dear members,

A small change of plans for today; Sam is starting his class Converting an extra pawn 15 minutes earlier, at 16:45 UK time, 08:45 California time.
Sabino is up at 14:00 as planned, with Game of the Week, in a few minutes.

Tomorrow, at 17:00 UK time (09:00 California), don’t miss Jacob’sBasic Introduction to Calculation (u2000).

And of course, the first heat of the Club championship is at 18:15 UK time. Don’t forget to Join the team on lichess correctly! Add your name, current elo (if you have one) and your membership email.
Jacob and Renier will play the first heat. Other coaches will play in later tournaments.
Here are the rest of the heats. Click on the links to go directly to Lichess, timings in LONDON time:
16th April 18:15
22th April 10:00
23rd April 18:15
30th April 18:15
13th May 02:00
21st May 18:15

Three results will be counted (the 4th only used for tie-breaks). The top two players overall and u2100 will qualify for the final.

Dariusz, Christopher and Kirk all played in St Louis. Dariusz won his group (but lost out in the playoffs), and Kirk fared less well. Christopher played what is probably the game of the year against Abhi Mishra in Round 2!

And Michael had a surprising win, to use his own words! Congratulations on winning the championship of your district for the first time in your life! More on the forum.

We know that Bob and Malcolm met in Iceland! Where are you guys playing? Let everyone know in the forum!

Your friends at Killer Chess Training,
Sam, Jacob, and Kallia

After the experience of the first heat, the time control in the next five tournaments will be changed to 15+3. One of the tournaments will start earlier in the day to give younger Asian members a better chance of participating.
