Dear Friends,
The Summer Homework Club is starting this coming Monday, 30th of June. You will find the first sheet on Friday morning, 27th of June on the summer homework club page. It will be a Killer homework and you will have until Sunday at midnight wherever you are to submit your solutions. Renier will mark them on Monday and send you feedback. During the 30th of June and 1st of August, while we have the summer homeworks, the Friendly and Killer Homework clubs will take a break.
Jacob will hold a camp that will be free for all members between the 14th and 18th of July. It will be on Tal and will also include a week of special homework inspired from Tal’s games.
All details are now finalised for our next online camp as well. It will be with GM Sabino Brunello, between the 25th and 29th of August, on Closed Positions. Sabino will give 2.5 hours of lectures split in three 50 minutes sessions every day. You can find more details about the camp here.
The camp will be free for all members who purchased a new yearly membership or renewed their old one after our last online camp in February. Thorsten Cmiel played in the German Seniors Championship and won 35 rating points. He will have a total of 45 added to his rating in the July list. Read about his experience in the tournament here. He analysed his games and added a few instructive puzzles from them in this article.
Aarav A is playing in the World Cup U12 right now in Batumi, Georgia. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for him; follow him here.
Renier and Raluca are off to Benasque soon. They will meet many members who have already signed up for the tournament next week – looking forward to a new group photo!
