Dear friends,

GM Michael Adams is a bit under the weather and his class tomorrow has been canceled. Instead, we will have a THINKING ALOUD tomorrow night at 8 pm London time, led by Renier Castellanos with our member GM Dariusz Swiercz as a guest.

We are approaching the 12-hour camp on Pawn Structures in the Middlegame with GM Ivan Sokolov, 24-27 February. A lot of you will already have been auto-enrolled, as you have bought or renewed your membership between July and the camp. In this period, the only camp we had was Bloody Christmas, and we did not give out any free passes to that camp.

For members, the fee for participation in the camp will be €100. Click here to sign up. Ivan has told us that all the material will be brand new, not covered by his previous books.

Our next camp will be at the very end of March and the beginning of April.

A member shared on the forum that some people on lichess are trying to “borrow” your Killer Chess Training account to check it out. Don’t do it! They would get access to your financial details, which you do not want. Also, your membership might be in danger, as the accounts are strictly personal memberships and not to be shared with others. If we discover that someone has been sharing their account, giving out homework sheets, recording the videos, we will terminate the membership immediately.

The blitz and bullet in the u2100 sections did not finish yet, but the Championship is decided. Dariusz Swiercz defeated Renier Castellanos 4.5-1.5 in the blitz final and Aradhya Garg defeated Andre Sousa with the same score in the bullet final.

Congratulations to Dariusz and Aradhya on being club champions! The rapid championship will start in March.

The core team of trainers decided on the students of the year. Student of the year is Kushal Jani, while u2100 student of the year is Arshiya Das. The honour is given to students who have shown commitment and consistency throughout 2021. Each of them will receive prizes that are suited specifically to help them improve in the year ahead.

Some of our members have been in action in the 4NCL this weekend, including against each other! Remember to leave a message on the Forum about your recent tournament experiences.

Elsewhere, long-time member Petra Kejžar (seeded 27 among women players in Slovenia) won both the rapid and the blitz women championships of her country over the weekend. A tremendous achievement that cannot be underestimated.

On chesstempo, you will find Newsletter 005 with games from the classes of Julen, Sam and Jacob. You will also find the finalised Catalan Repertoire (for Black) by Renier. We will keep it there as long as we can (we estimate 2 years, but make no promises). There is also an ebook on The Style of the World Champions by Sabino Brunello. This is a more expansive file than his course, as not all the games were used in the classes. He will soon finish this long running course, after which the final file of the course will be available for 21 days. Finally, Homework 69 is uploaded too in the course pages.

We have also shared the old Sicilian repertoire and a few more opening files. New members should feel lucky, as we will not be sharing these files again in the future. This is the last time. As said above, we expect the opening files to be available for 2 years, but cannot make any promises. It is all about the amount of space we are allowed to have on the server.

If you have not sorted out your chesstempo account, please buy the membership! It is a tremendous resource that we are offering to you at cost.

Homework for the 1st of March is now uploaded in the Killer and Friendly course pages and don’t miss tomorrow the new Position of the Week on our Youtube channel!

Your friends at Killer Chess Training,

Sam, Kallia and Jacob
