Is it alright to submit homework sheets for the Killer Homework Class, even if absent for the corresponding homework class to discuss it? I live in California, which is timezone CET-9, so mornings and afternoons in Europe are the middle of the night here. I always watch the recordings of the homework classes anyway.

Both approaches are fine! The important thing is to actually do the homework and submit it!
If you have time to take a look again at the feedback before you look at the solutions, that is even better
