Dear Friends,
All 6 heats of this year’s Club Championship are over. Unfortunately, we have gotten slightly delayed in announcing the finalists, so please bear with us. We will contact the winners and announce their matches very soon.
The camp with GM Julen Arizmendi will start this Thursday, from 5 PM UK time. All new yearly members/ yearly renewals after the 28th of December who have not yet received a free camp will receive this one as a gift. If you fall under this category, please check that you have access to the camp’s page. If you don’t, send us a message to check as soon as possible.
The theme of the camp will be Decision-Making in the Middlegame. More information about the camp is available here.
The training will take time between 17.00 and 20.30 London time each, with two 15-minute breaks between the sessions. The camp will offer you a full 12 hours of training.
New yearly members and yearly renewals between the 28th of December and the 26th of March will receive this camp for free, as a welcome gift. Everyone else who would like to participate needs to purchase the camp in our shop. If you are a member, remember to log in first to have the members’ discount applied to the camp!

VERY IMPORTANT: Please note that Europe will switch to daylight saving time this Sunday. As a consequence, a few classes will change their starting time next week. Please double check the schedule, so you don’t miss them. If you are on a different continent, note that Julen’s starting times on Sunday will also be slightly different.
With more people signing up for the in-person camp in Spain, we have decided to put a second shuttle from Malaga airport to the hotel. If you are thinking about joining the camp, send us an email to coordinate your arrival! So far, we have 23 participants. In total, 33 have signed up for the camp. You can find the full list of confirmed participants so far here. The theme of this year’s camp will be Attack.
We are still working on the schedule and will have it ready at the beginning of April. As a novelty from last year’s edition, this year you will have the opportunity of having small 1-on-1 sessions with one of our trainers to get your games analysed, ask questions and receive personalised advice.
The camp will take place in the 4* resort Zoraida Garden in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, between the 17th and the 24th of May. Your trainers will be GM Jacob Aagaard, GM Renier Castellanos and GM Julen Arizmendi. GM and former Women’s World Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk will be our special guest this edition. She will give a masterclass, a simul and play friendly blitz games with participants.
On the 23rd of May there will be a FIDE rated rapid or blitz tournament with prizes. We will announce all details as soon as we will have them from the organizers (our partners, the Chess Federation of Almeria).
Check the archive section of our website to get an idea about how the camp was structured last year. In the gallery section you can find some photos from the event.
To sign up, please fill in the registration form, here. More information is available on our website.
A few new courses have been added to the shop! Many of you were asking for the opening courses with GM Sabino Brunello. Two of them, the 1.e4 Repertoire for White, and the 1.d4 Repertoire for White can now be purchased, only by yearly members.
Prophylactic Thinking with GM Swayams, as well as Jacob’s re-run of the Advanced Calculation course, Advanced Calculation II, are also available for purchase.
All courses in the shop are discounted for members, both monthly and yearly, so make sure that you are logged in to your account!
We’ve received a lot of great news from our members over the past two weeks.
Trisha Kanyamarala is women’s British Rapid Champion.
Alejandro Domingo had a fantastic showing in the Andalusian League. He scored 7.5/9, which gave him a 2618 rating performance. Unfortunately, he needed two more flags for this to count as a GM norm as well…
Jacob is Danish Champion with his team for a second year in a row!
Arshiya won another title, this time with her team. She has also officially received her FM title.
Stany has been playing the Six Days closed GM tournament in Budapest. He will be back with more classes in the academy next week.
Have you been playing any tournaments? We want to know! Let us know on the forum or on social media.
