Jacob’s camp is over and we continue with the old killer and friendly homeworks as part of the summer homework training. Remember that the deadline for submitting your solutions is midnight wherever you are on the corresponding date of the homework. Solutions are uploaded via video and chesstempo on the summer homework page on the next day.
On Saturday, Sabino will give a playing position simul. The simul will start from a given position where he will have to defend a worse position. If you want to play the simul, you have to first be in our Simuls team. Please write your name and membership email when you apply for the team. The link for the simul will be made available on the website and sent via message on lichess 10 minutes before the start of the simul.
In August, GM Sabino Brunello will have an online camp on Closed Positions. It will be between the 25th and 29th of August and will include 12.5 hours of classes. You can find more details about the camp here.
The camp will be free for all members who purchased a new yearly membership or renewed their old one after our last online camp in February. We are always checking where our members are playing and we are incredibly happy when we receive messages about your successes. This past week we learned that one of our members has scored his first GM norm. We hope that he will soon score the next two and become a full GM!
Yahli defeated Renier in the last round of Benasque Open to finish 10th. Karthik finished 6th. Renier had a very good tournament, but, unfortunately, the loss in the last round left him out of the prizes.
Tarun finished with 6/9 in Valencia and gained a bunch of rating points.
